  • Stirring the Pot--or Not!

Nothing is better on a cold, damp day than a pot of steaming, aromatic soup. Except possibly walking in the door to the delicious scent of dinner that's been simmering all day in a slow cooker. Whether it's something you have to keep stirring, or something you can set and forget, post your recipes for one-pot meals here!

Soup can be very healthful. Beer cheese soup probably is not. But I love it dearly anyway, and I can't wait to try this recipe from Work at Home Mom Revolution.

I have the answer....FREEZE your apple cider in individual serving amounts. I opt for either 1/2 or 1 cup servings. Defrost and use as suggested in your favorite recipe! I heart Real Simple. But I have to tell you, I'm not putting cauliflower in my macaroni and cheese. Some of the other stuff looks great, though.

This recipe from Allrecipes has only two ingredients and garnered hundreds of rave reviews. One caveat: make sure the turkey breast you buy will actually fit in your slow cooker! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Turkey-Breast/Detail.aspx

This soup is SOOOOO good. And the perfect remedy for a cold too!The pasta will still have a chewy bite when the chicken is ready, but it continues to cook while the soup stands. Add garlic, ginger, and lemongrass; sauté 3 minutes. Add water and broth; bring to a boil. Add chicken and pasta; cook 5 minutes or until chicken is done. This is another South-Beach friendly recipe from Kalyn's Kitchen. It's such a cold and snowy night tonight in so much of the country, I thought a warming, delicious recipe like this one might hit the spot!

Duo of chile-avocado and mint-tomato soups sounds heavenly. If only I hadn't already ate dinner AND went grocery shopping. I'm going to HAVE to try these recipes out. I miss soup in summer and have never made gazpacho, but I love it.
