Not sure how to do this... Actually attach the content with my link - pictures an all? I know that it can be done... But how?
over 2 years agoComments (6)I have noticed that sometimes people have a great post, maybe a picture or a funny story, and they post it in multiple circles--sometimes literally dozens. I think it's great that we have the ability to post to multiple circles easily. Sometimes a story really belongs in multiple circles, like say a great vegetarian chili recipe that would be perfect for the "Eat Your Veggies" Circle, and also the "Dinner Time Again" circle. But I think it's a bad idea to post something in many circles at once, for a number of reasons. First is that the idea of posting is so that people can see and comment on something that's important to you, and maybe start a conversation about it. If you post it in ten circles, that conversation can't develop because someone who commented in one circle might not be aware of a comment in another. Second is that it's confusing. Some circles have fairly specific themes, like photography or cooking or prayer. If you post a picture of, say, your kid's class field trip in all of those circles, people who are visiting the circle for the purpose of that circle's subject matter will wonder what your post is doing there, and have a harder time finding what they're looking for. Imagine this: if we all posted all of our posts to every circle we belonged to, every circle would look pretty much the same, and there wouldn't be any point to having themes. Third, if you post one story to, say, ten circles at once, almost all of the "Here's what's happening" stories on the homepage will be yours, and other people's posts won't get the attention they deserve. In the circles I manage, if I find a post that's off topic, even if it's otherwise a great post, I will delete it. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to be tidy. I'm especially vigilant about the Prayer Chain, because people go there to post important concerns, and I don't want that diluted by pictures of somebody's sons having a food fight. A better way to post that picture, IMHO, would be to post it on your "My Home," and also one or two other circles where it fits, like "LOL! That's Funny!" or "Mothers of Boys." Not in Twitter, Three Things I'm Grateful for Today, Pregnant or TTC, Motivate Me to Be Fit, etc. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest! I know that people post on this site because they have great stuff that they want to share, so I hope that I didn't offend anyone.
over 2 years agoYou might notice that when you post things on The Motherhood, there is a spot to add tags! Which may have left you scratching your head wondering what in the world are tags?(I've highlighted the tag cloud with a red square around it!)Tags are simply words that describes what you are posting. Or think of them as labels for your post. This post might have the tags "how to, faq, tags, help"Is it necessary to tag everything I post? I would say no, it's not necessary. It can come in handy in the future when someone is searching the site. But certainly you don't have to use them.I'll leave you with a last fun thought. If you go to the homepage for The Motherhood and scroll down, you will see what is called a tag cloud. This shows the most recently used tags on the site, and you can tell how frequently they are being used based on the size of the word! It's listed on the left side, under Active Topics. From this picture, you can tell Extreme MakeOver Home Edition has been used a lot lately, along with Awesome Community (of which I happen to think this site is!).Anyway, hope that helps! =)

please dont call somewhere with rihanna blasting in the background or around your screaming childern..... please dont play 21 questions.... especially if we have other calls that need to be tended to. we want to get you where you need but we dont need a long drawn out story about how bob was wearing a blue shirt and kakhi pants and when he bent over they ripped and martha tripped looking at him..... if it doesnt pertain to what your calling about then leave it out. just a quick fast response (ie: payroll, customer service, accounting, ect.) is all that is needed. if someone tells you that the person that you are trying to reach is not avalible and that you can leave a voice mail after they transfer you, please dont come back to the receptionist and ask why that person didnt pick up the phone. Just leave a message after the tone. dont ask for us to physically hunt someone down.... we cant do that. we dont have just a two man opperation going on here... there are several hundred people working here. Thank You!

She never thought of dying at all," Katherine Ray said. "She was planning for her birthday party." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_oldest_american#mwpphu-container
over 2 years agoI'm not getting e-mails when people respond to things I've posted or commented on ... and I can't find the settings to change it anymore. Is that feature gone now? Or can someone help me find it!

What's up Motherhood -- I'm not getting email notifications when someone comments on posts I've commented, etc...and I've been seeing a lot of posts that look like spam entries.
