    what do you do?
So far I have swept every surface (yes even the carpet because I can’t vacuum when everyone else is sleeping), rearranged the pantry, tried to watch oprah, spent too much time on-line, 1.5 loads of laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, cleaned up all the kids toys, put the kids bookshelves back in order, and organized the coat closet (not so much the coats, but all the shoes just thrown at the bottom of it).
I think I should probably go lay down now, but I still don’t think I can sleep. :-( But I’ll bring up a good book and get some reading done.

I rarely have insomnia, so I rarely have to address this issue. But when I do, I never do something productive like clean! Usually I read, or go downstairs to watch tv, or surf the internet.

According to some of the sleep books I have read, the best thing you can do is something you hate doing—like cleaning the toilets. Your body will react to the awful chore, by shutting down and go to sleep. Sorry Becki, but you should stay about from books, tv and the internet. If you have insomnia all of the time, you probably want to see a sleep doctor for some tests. I just had a sleep study done and I am waiting on the results.
