Took this one out from the library, and I’m glad. It was an enjoyable read, but not one I’ll be returning to again and again. The heroine’s romance was a little too deus ex machina to really be believable, and I never quite understood the friendship between the heroine’s mother and her two best friends—didn’t get much of a sense of what had drawn them together in the first place, other than the Big Mystery that was revealed at the end. I don’t regret reading it, but I’m glad I didn’t spend the money for the book.

I didn’t really enjoy the book that much. I didn’t enjoy the other book I read by her either (well, I think because now I can’t remember and so therefor it wasn’t that memorable to me either).
To me the book felt way to scripted and fake and as realistic fiction, I think it should feel, well, kind of realistic.

Okay. Glad I wasn’t alone in that thinking, because everybody else I talked to looooooved it.

Loved this book! It’s the only novel of its length I read in maybe six hours. That obviously happened on a weekend and it tells you how little of home chores I was able to do that day :) I thought the writing was engaging; one of my favorite parts was that of the painting of woman divers—the imagery gave me goosebumps!

I wish reading books counted as housework. I would totally get gold stars! As it is, my house is very dusty, but my husband has a literate wife. I hope he finds the trade-off worth it…
