In 1991, Madeleine founded ZUMIX, a unique program that inspires and empowers young people — most from low-income families — to use music to make positive changes in their lives, their communities and the world. She started the program in her living room with just $200, and today, there are more than 200 children on the waiting list to enjoy programs in songwriting, music technology and instrumental music.
