LATEST POSTED BY: BrandieTarget Is ‘Down’ With Down Syndrome: 5 Things Target Said By Saying Nothing At All January 2, 2012 http://noahsdad.com/target-down-syndrome/ If you were browsing through this week’s Target ad you may have passed right over the adorable little boy in the bright orange shirt smiling at you on page 9! And if so, I’m glad! The reason I’m glad? Well, that stylish young man in the orange shirt is Ryan. Ryan just so happened to have been born with Down syndrome, and I’m glad that Target included a model with down syndrome in their typical ad! :) This wasn’t a “Special Clothing For Special People” catalog. There wasn’t a call out somewhere on the page proudly proclaiming that “Target’s proud to feature a model with Down syndrome in this week’s ad!” And they didn’t even ask him to model a shirt with the phrase, “We Aren’t All Angels” printed on the front. In other words, they didn’t make a big deal out of it. I like that. 5 Things Target Said By Not Saying Anything Click the link above to keep reading.ViewJanuary.4th.2012
Photography
All things photography - digital, film, experienced, beginner - share your pictures, ask questions, give advice, etc.
LATEST POSTED BY: Kayla SCNN.com - American photography icon Eastman Kodak has seen more than a 90% drop in shares over the past year, which has lead to speculation about a possible bankruptcy. The 131-year-old camera company, whose main focus was film, has suffered financially since the digital revolution. Over the years, the saying “Kodak Moment” has become a popular synonym for a priceless memory captured by a photo. Did you use or do you still use Kodak film? If so, share your most memorable analog Kodak Moment with iReport and tell us what made that moment so special. Your photo could be featured on CNN. http://ireport.cnn.com/topics/726798?hpt=hp_bn1ViewJanuary.9th.2012

As part of the White House's official Earth Day festivities, Vice President Joe Biden unveiled the "Retrofit Ramp-Up," a plan to dole out $452M in energy retrofits to 25 communities across the country. Using funds set aside by the Recovery Act, contractors will literally be going door-to-door to offer Americans a chance at a free energy-saving upgrade. The only problem is that you have to live in one of these 25 privileged communities. Lucky for me, my town made the cut. Did yours? (mine didn't make the cut - bummer - but I think this is great! And I know we have lots of Michigan moms on here - the State of Michigan is listed so you'll have to let us know if you get to participate in this!)ViewApril.22nd.2010
Get Organized!
I'm not a fan clutter (literal and mental), but sometimes (especially with children) it's unavoidable... or is it? This is place to share ideas on how to conquer that seemingly impossible clutter in our lives (and help our kids do the same).
LATEST POSTED BY: Erin OThis web page has some great tips for staying organized! They include... - store bedlinen sets inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match. - re-use a wet-wipes container to store plastic bags. - use wire to make a space to store gift wrap rolls against the ceiling, rather than cluttering up the floor. - use magnetic strips to store bobby pins (and tweezers and clippers) behind a vanity door. Healthy Moms, Healthy Families
As mothers, we're always paying attention to health issues--our families' as well as our own. This circle is dedicated to keeping everyone we love healthy--including ourselves!
LATEST POSTED BY: Deborah15 Ways to Eat Healthy Without Breaking the Bank.... I am very committed to eating really healthfully and feeding my family as much nutritious food as possible. Many people complain to me that they can’t buy fresh, organic food because it’s too expensive. It’s interesting to me that 100 years ago we spent twenty-five percent of our disposable income on food and now we only spend ten percent. Furthermore, we’re actually consuming more food than before, while getting fatter and sicker. But I do think we’re starting to make the connection that we have a lot of cheap food in this country, and that cheap food has hidden costs—to our physical bodies, as well as the environment.
