About Me
  • Three boys, two dogs, a cat, a husband and a partridge in a pear tree. I'm a political consultant and a photographer, and in all my free time I've found myself running a little league concession stand. I have no idea how to do it all. I'm too busy trying to figure out why I still have zits.

This may sound bitchy, but I've noticed that as Pinterest has become more popular, the Everyone tab has become less interesting.

As a side note, I also kept checking the popular tab yesterday and never saw the Pin with Love item come up. I wonder if they kept it off the popular page.

Now that mom blogging has been around for a while, do you think marketing folks will come to realize that not all of us have kids in diapers? Or that we're not all at home cooking dinner every night? As a mom with older kids, I'm constantly amazed at the missed opportunities on the part of marketers. What I'm buying are much bigger items now.

I find it interesting that I don't write on my blog nearly as often as I used to, but that my network still exists and continues to expand.

I tend to think of my blog as the hub to my online wheel. Twitter, FB, Google , online forums all split off from it. It's like an online business card--brings you credibility.

When I think of the Mom Blogosphere now I see it as much more amorphous than I used to. I have developed a network because of blogging that extend far beyond actual blogs I read (because some of these people no longer blog) or people who read my blog. I like that relationships have continued beyond the blog. And that the reach remains.

Would love to hear your thoughts about this.

I want to chime in about perennials. I have a plot along a fence line that gets full sun. I seem to be investing a small fortune each year in zone-appropriate perennials that don't come back. Do you know of a reference for soil type heartiness? I've got zone and light down, thinking maybe I am choosing plants that can't thrive in my soil. I've enriched the plot quite a bit since we have clay, but nothing...
