MojoMom participated in the Live Talk The State of the Mom Blogosphere

The question I am grappling with is, what happens to Mom bloggers when the kids grow up? What does that feel like, and how do we write next chapters?

Ten celebrity mom bloggers led a Talk on trends in the Mom Blogosphere. The community talked about: - Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare - enhancing or taking away from blogging? - Advice for bloggers wanting to get the word out - Mom bloggers and brands - here to stay and the Do's and Don'ts for bloggers and brands - Predictions for 2011 and more!

Hi Everybody, I am so glad to be here! I recorded a Mojo Mom Podcast with Ellen to discuss "Mind in the Making," so I wanted to share that link with you: http://www.mojomom.com/2010/04/23/mojo-mom-podcast-with-ellen-galinsky-author-of-mind-in-the-making/

We're talking with Ellen Galinsky about her brand new, already bestselling book "Mind in the Making" (it's #1 on Amazon's parenting list) about the seven most important "life skills" for children growing up today. Ellen wants our kids to learn for grades and learn for life. To communicate effectively, work well with diverse groups of people, think outside the box, and be ongoing learners. And to have all that, they need these seven skill: Focus and Self Control; Perspective Taking; Communicating; Making Connections; Critical Thinking; Taking On Challenges; Self-Directed, Engaged Learning. "It may well be the next iconic parenting manual, up there with Spock and Leach and Brazelton, one that parents turn to for reassurance that all is more or less okay, reminders of how to make it better and glimpses of what’s to come." - Lisa Belkin, The New York Times, April 29, 2010 Join the conversation!

My hubby is so hard to buy for because he really has just about everything he wants or needs. I am trying to find something cool and original for him? One place I have looked that I can suggest to others is the Think Geek catalog (www.thinkgeek.com) which has tons of fun and zany things for those who are proud to call ourselves geeks! It's also our ten-year-old daughter's favorite catalog this year. She wants the Monty Python killer bunny slippers. (Her Dad introduced her to Monty Python earlier this year...Holy Grail with a finger on the fast-forward button when necessary.)

Wed, Dec 16th All Day: Kristen Chase, co-founder of Cool Mom Picks, is sharing her inspired ideas for last-minute holiday shopping. We'll all talk about last minute gifts - what we're giving and what we hope to receive - wrapping ideas, stocking stuffers and more. Join us!

One cool thing about this project is that we are pulling it together quickly and dynamically.  So, as you know, Emily and Cooper will be writing a chapter based on this chat.  We are interested in your stories, and I also want to be sure to capture your questions:  What would you hope to learn from a book called “Courageous Parenting?”

Hi everyone, thanks so much for inviting us to join you for this chat!  I wanted to start out by telling you what led me to create this new book.  In my writing as Mojo Mom, part of my job is to stay on top of trends in parenting.  I was starting to sense that our levels of anxiety were rising and affecting our parenting.  At the same time, I was getting to know many wonderful writers who could inspire us with encouragement and real-world skills.  So I put those two things together to invite 14 insightful writers to join me in creating this anthology.
