About Me
  • I'm a stay at home mom of 3 awesome kids - 2 girls and a boy. I am married to the most wonderful man alive. And I'm surrounded by so many wonderful people I'm beyond blessed. I love to make things. But now I have to fit in making between kicking cancer's @$$, being mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend. But I know I'll get through this - with lots of hugs, laughter, support and some knitting on the side! =)

Any advice for those of us who have never attended but now want to next year?

Join the Kirtsy Girls -- Gabrielle Blair, Sarah Bryden-Brown, Laura Mayes and Laurie Smithwick -- to hear all the Alt Summit highlights. Big things like panels, keynotes, parties and sponsors. Plus little details like gift bags, business cards, and twinkle lights. If you attended, we want to hear your favorite parts too! If you missed Alt Summit, come join us to get a glimpse of what it's like.

Brandie posted on Forum Discussion Television: What we watch

From the shows we grew up with, to the shows our kids are growing up with, to the must-see shows we hunker down with after the kids are in bed, let's talk about what we're watching on the tube.

I've got to scoot now ... doctor's appointment. But what an amazing chat. Thanks all!

Sex, drugs, alcohol or grief: few topics are as stressful for parents – or as important for your kids.  Dr. G will give you the words and tools to pass on your own values on these subjects to your children.  We'll address the issues that make you feel most anxious at home, and find new ways and ease to talk about them with your kids.

In my experience, people's opinions are often formed based on the first way they learned information. So I wanted to be the first to talk to my kids about these big topics because I didn't want them to have negative opinions about these topics (i.e. shame, only "bad" people are affected by it, etc).

In one word (or less!), name your heart today. ONE WORD ONLY! Others can comment and respond to your post, but YOU must keep it short and sweet (but your word does not have to be sweet at all!)....Let's see what happens, OK? Peace for your Path! Love, Robin

Brandie participated in the Live Talk Empowering Girls With Rachel Simmons

My 12year old is very good at marching to her own beat. I love it. I think it's great. BUT, it does make for some awkwardness with other kids who will question why she doesn't do this cool thing or that cool thing. How can I help her respond to those things, without sounding too defensive/snobby/etc?

Bestselling author and founder of the Girls Leadership Institute, Rachel Simmons, will lead a Talk on helping our daughters to discover and embrace the best parts of their authentic selves.  Bring your questions, your stories of raising your daughters and we'll all learn skills for our girls (and us!) to live with integrity, personal authority and self-awareness.

Ahh! I'm late! I forgot about time zones. Anyway, can't wait to go back and read what everyone talked about!
