- wife, mama, writer, reviewer, activist, music enthusiast, coffee lover, clutter hater, animal lover, non-vaccinating, co-sleeping, new homeschooling mama. Writer for the Chicago Moms. I'm married to the love of my life Todd, who I met over 10 years ago, and have been married to for over 6. I have two kiddos; Jonah (3.22.07) and Lily (3.2.09). Jonah is a music loving, basketball playing, popsicle eating, rambunctious boy who loves to "cook" and do "projects". We are back for 2011 and so excited! Throughout this year we're adding a twist to the Rice Krispies® challenges of the past that we think everyone will love. Through the Rice Krispies Making Memories Challenge, we're kicking it up a notch to add to the fun. The Motherhood is working with some of our favorite mom bloggers - who are working in four teams of four across the country - to create new Rice Krispies recipes and event "displays" based on surprise themes. Check back often for details on the mom bloggers’ Rice Krispies Making Memories Challenges! We will have four of them throughout the year, so the fun never stops! If you LOVE Rice Krispies® cereal like we do – or have a great memory about Rice Krispies cereal, tip or recipe you want to share – please join the conversation.
Mommy Instincts participated in the Live Talk You Have More Time Than You Think
I have a detailed schedule on our refrigerator with what time everything needs to get done. Breakfast, cleanup, get dressed, snack time, nap time, etc....It is LARGE and I find that if I tell me toddlers that "The schedule says we need to take a nap now" it is more likely to be followed than if I tell them myself.
168 hours - that's how many hours there are in a week and the title of Laura Vanderkam's new book "168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think". Join Laura and a fantastic group of mom bloggers to talk about how we spend our time and how we can look at our schedules differently and free up more time. Here's how Martha Beck describes her reaction to the book, "Within a few pages, Laura Vanderkam's crisp, entertaining book convinced me I had time to read it. Then it convinced me I had time to reread War and Peace. In the original Russian. Thank you, Laura, for freeing up my schedule." -Martha Beck, bestselling author of Steering by Starlight

I am so glad that a "non-cook" is being recognized here! I seriously WANT to be able to cook, I just can't! Maybe I can learn some tricks here! ;-)
We're talking with Jeanne Muchnick about her new book, "Dinner for Busy Moms" and easy strategies for getting our family to the table. We'll share some of our favorite recipes (even for us non-cooks) and conversation starters beyond, "What'd you do in school today?" Thank you to the WONDERFUL co-hosts joining the conversation (see the Talk sidebar for the full list)! Sponsored by Sprout Baby Food.
