This has been such a fantastic and exciting opportunity for our community. On Monday, The White House invited TheMotherhood.com to share our thoughts and questions on consumer and family financial protection reform.
Today Dr. Christina Romer, Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers answered many of our questions by video -- and they are clear, to the point and very informative.
In the video segments below Dr. Romer covers a variety of consumer financial protection issues such as: credit cards and mortgages, the role of the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, college loans, small businesses and what we can expect next. And, yes, Dr. Romer is directly addressing YOUR questions. How cool is that?
A special thanks to the amazing members of TheMotherhood for asking such smart, thought through questions and to Dr. Romer for engaging us is such an informative and interesting conversation!
You can read the White House's blog post about our conversation here!
Enjoy! We are thrilled and proud. Thanks everyone!
A question about credit card and mortgage protection:
How are small businesses protected?
What does the Consumer Financial Protection Agency mean to average people and families?
What about student loans?
What's next and how long do we have to wait?
Comments:
" Unfortunately, It looks now like credit card companies are trying to do an end run around the new credit card regulations that go into effect in a couple of months. Many people are receiving notices that the companies are raising interest rates that I would argue are something akin to usury.
What do we do about that? " by PunditMom
