pgoodness Hi! Another question for anyone who can answer it! If a packet of seeds has like 25 or more in it, do you all start ALL of them?? Seems like with just 4 or 5 different vegetables I would have hundreds of little plants started!
Thanks for bearing with me as I learn!

Kristin30 Hi,You don't need to start all 25 seeds if you only want a few plants. You have to take germination rates into consideration when deciding how many seeds to grow. Dave Smicker suggests referring to the germination rates on the back of your seed pack to estimate how many seeds to start based on how many plants you hope to grow. Dave says that if you are looking to grow 4 to 5 plants out of a pack of 25 seeds, you should probably plant half the pack of seeds. Hope this helps.

Emily Kristin, that is so helpful!! I wouldn't have guessed a 3-1 ratio - such useful info!
