Many of the biggest health concerns for our children are on the rise: http://www.drgreene.com/21_1826.html , http://www.drgreene.com/54_32.html , http://www.drgreene.com/54_32.html ,http://www.drgreene.com/21_933.html in babies, http://www.drgreene.com/54_31.html , etc. All of these are linked to environmental exposures. When you’re making decisions about the products in your home, cast a knowledgeable eye from the ground up. Think about the carpet and the pad underneath, the paint on your walls, the antibacterial cleansers you use throughout the home – even the personal care products you use on your body. The choices you make today are opportunities that could give your kids a better chance for the best of health throughout their lives.

Emily DrGreene, Welcome to TheMotherhood! This has been on my mind so much lately as we change out the products we're using. Here's a small example that's I've only just noticed. After cleaning the tub, when I go later to give the girls a bath, there's a dry sandy film from the cleanser coating the bottom - even though I thought I'd washed the tub out thoroughly. It takes lots of water to get rid of it, so I can only imagine how many of us have inadvertently been giving our kids chemical baths all these years (my childhood included). As I said, we're switching to softer, more eco-friendly cleaners.

Brandie Hello Dr. Green and welcome to the site! Can't wait to read more of what you share with us! I love how more and more people are talking about our environment and what we are using in our home! I love it. We switched over a few years ago and I haven't regretted it one bit! =)

Becki I don't know what else could explain the rise in these conditions besides changes in our environment. We have fouled our nest, that's for sure. Even birds know better than to do that.
