ChristopherGav Eating organic doesn’t have to mean buying organic. You can grow your
own food. And it’s cheaper than anything you’ll find at the store (a $2
tomato seedling can give 10 pounds of tomatoes over a season). Anyone
growing their own? How’s it going?

Sheilacakes I never thought of growing my own organics. Great idea!

Emily We're growing our own veggies and are loving it! My girls love going out and picking the 'harvest' and you're right, the cost savings are enormous.

Tracie We are hoping to start a garden this fall. But I need to find a good organic gardening book.

nicolemeadow We have also recently started growing a vegetable garden... in addition to all of the thoughts above, research shows that when children grow their own vegetables/fruits they are more likely to try them... great for "selective" (my word for picky) eaters!!

ChristopherGav It's easier than you think - just start with a few pots, good organic soil, seeds, and a sunny window. Your kids will really enjoy the science and growth of it all.
