  • Nichole I read on someones blog the other day that they wanted to stop using paper towels, I haven't been able to get over this. Here is my solution, I just plain don't buy them. If you don't have them in the house you don't have them to use. Case in point; my husband was cleaning something about a month ago and ranted about how if he had paper towels it would make the task so much easier. I told him to get over it and use a regular towel, and he did! Problem solved!

And don't even get me started on the new paper towels for the bathroom that have come out recently!

    • juliepippert We quit using paper towels, paper napkins, etc. Not letting go of toilet paper though lol. Anyway we used old cloth diapers as rags, sponges, etc. to replace paper towels and I really don't even miss them. My husband has had a little harder time, but is a good sport.

    • juliepippert Oh also? No plastic baggies. Boy does that get me a world of hurt sometimes at school and more especially at the airport!

    • Gina Rau Great point...if it's not there, we can't use it. Our kids take cloth napkins and our regular utensils to school (along w/reusable containers) & we get some pretty funny looks and remarks from other parents but we're all happy and proud of our efforts. Kids learn young!

    • Emily I love using cloth napkins! We're saving the paper, and we use different color napkins so they feel festive.

    • Turningclockbac there are some things I just cant clean without paper towels. I will not go into details but 99% of the time it is a reusable rag but when the dog pukes I am grabbing paper towels!
