Patricia Digh writes a blog call 37 Days about living intentionally. Today's post is about being turned down at a restaurant when she ordered toast because it was "past toast time". From there, she riffs on rules, crazy movies scenes involving toast, and the larger question of the rules we let rule our lives. Oh, and it's funny. Really funny.

That was a great blog post! I know exactly where that cafe is. Funny, I always walk by without stopping. Makes me feel like having toast, which, by the way, my son happens to eat 2-3 times a day. It is always toast time at our house.

I haven't lived in DC for years, but I know exactly where it is too! It's toast time around our house all the time too. Maybe one of these days, you'll go in an order some for both of us!

I haven't seen the movie "Five Easy Pieces" in ages, and reading that scene again, brought it back to life. That's a hilarious movie and the perfect segue for her post. Great read. Thanks for the headsup.

I love the idea of asking ourselves the question -- daily -- WHO MAKES THESE RULES and why??????
