I love that it's so easy too - just pop a card in each box and see the pile grow over the years! I'm going to surprise the girls some day down the line ...

Love it! I have a few cousins that send out a family update newsletter along with their holiday cards. It basically outlines their entire year. It's a great way to feel like your part of their lives when you live so far away.

That is so special. My mom did something similar for my brother and me, creating scrapbooks with our holiday cards and letters from throughout the years.

    • My grandmother-in-law did a really wonderful things for her grandkids. In all her holiday cards she included updates on each of her daughters and their family's activites, and then she put one of each card in a special box for each of her 15 grandchildren. When she passed away, my husband received a box of holiday cards going back to when he was born. He was so moved and I saw a whole new side of him and his family which was incredible. We've started boxes for each of our girls so they'll have all our holiday cards through the years too....

Ha, I'm thinking the same thing. I've always done just the kids. You know...for 5 years anyway ;) I've only ever received 1 or 2 with the whole family of friends. I usually go by the motto if I don't want to see myself in print, why would anyone else ;)

      I've done it both ways

Hmmm... maybe I should rethink the just kids pictures.

We've done it both ways. But, I prefer the whole family.

We do the entire family because some of the cards are sent to people at work who may have never met our kids and don't really care about seeing a picture of them.

I much prefer to RECEIVE shots of the entire family, so that's what I try to include as well.

Such a great question! We alternate between just the kids and sometimes the four of us. The main reason I like the family photo is that we keep it for us as a special memento of the year, that moment in time.

I just do the kids... I have no desire to be photographed! The kids are cuter to look at!

I have never sent a family photo as my card (but receive lots of them). I love seeing the entire family in the shot as opposed to just the kids.

    • I think I may use a beach picture this year from our recent trip to Jamaica. I'm curious - how many of you include shots of the entire family as opposed to just the kids?
