Brandie that is hard! I am on no dairy right now because of breastfeeding my son, and it is HARD to find recipes some days!

To save time, prep your veggies when you come home from the market. Also cook once, and eat twice (or even more)!

Made a commitment last year to get started on healthier cooking - both for the adults and kids...it's all baby steps for us. Just adding in more fresh fruits and veggies helps a lot for us.

Time, getting into ruts, a daughter with food issues so we can't use 90% of the great recipes I come across. :(

I get into a rut sometimes, which is why chats like this inspire me to try new things...as soon as I recover from this flu.

Time is definitely the issue. That's why I love freezer and batch cooking. @onceamonthmom has a great site w/healthy foods to cook ahead of time. http://onceamonthmom.com/diet/

Great tip Renee on Ready Set Eat. Sometimes all we need is inspiration.

I plan for dinners but rarely for other meals, so I feel that sometimes for lunch and breakfast we are less healthy. If I am on the go sometimes I get ravenous and then end up in the drive-thru.

And I would think that sometimes what you know is easier than trying to learn to change your eating habits.

I steer clear of the artificial sweeteners. I do use agave sparingly and have reduced all sweeteners. I do wish people would let you know if they substitute artificial sweeteners in their food BEFORE you eat it.

Love agave, honey, and maple syrup, but use old fashioned sugar (in moderation) in most of my recipes.

I'm a huge fan of agave but not really into the stevia or sugar alternatives. I never buy the fake stuff either.

we like stevia in drinks, but I don't care for it in cooking. I usually just use straight up sugar....it's kind of that one concession, I make.

I use a lot of stevia and agave - honey and maple syrup less so.

Love pure maple syrup and local honey! Agave nectar consists primarily of fructose and glucose - mostly fructose - chemically it's similar to high fructose corn syrup..

My grocer stocks bags of natural organic pure cane sugar now. A little more costly but worth it to me. I also drastically cut back on the amount of sugar in every recipe and find that the end result tastes much much better.

I use honey and maple syrup. I don't use anything made in a lab because it gives me to creeps. I'd rather use a tish of real sugar than the fake stuff on the market.

I love honey and agave. Not a huge fan of stevia...seems like it has an aftertaste.

I've used all but stevia. They all taste good. I still mostly use cane sugar though. And I sub in agave aparingly because it's still pretty controversial.

I really want to like stevia but I think it tastes nasty. I will occasionally use maple syrup in my coffee--YUM! I've also been using coconut palm sugar in coffee and it is yummy--obviously not a sugar "alternative" but not as processed.

Big fan!! I love using honey or pure maple syrup as a sub for white sugar, which I am vowing to never use again. I also have been using pure cane sugar too.
