We are so thrilled to announce that we are working with Be Out There – “a national movement to help American families raise happier, healthier children with a life-long love of nature,” brought to us by the National Wildlife Federation – to create and publish an e-book filled with tips and ideas for spending time outdoors during the hot summer months!
Last year, The Motherhood worked with the Be Out There team to ask parents which barriers they face in getting their kids to spend time outdoors. The responses ranged from technology (video games and computers keeping kids inside) to adverse weather conditions (rain, heat, humidity and so on).
To help parents find some bright ideas for cool summer activities, The Motherhood and Be Out There are working with an amazing, passionate team of blogger authors to compile their best thoughts and suggestions. We are also taking ideas from their online communities – and ours!
Here’s where you come in. One of the chapters in the e-book will outline thoughts on “Nighttime Activities,” with the idea that it’s cooler and easier to be outside after the sun goes down and the heat of the day passes. If you have fun tips, anecdotes or suggestions for evening or nighttime activities in the summer, please share them in the comments!
