The “Been There” blog was born, one of the first “mom blogs” in the country, which later became The Motherhood as we know it today.
The Motherhood Inc. was founded following the success of a viral, online relief effort to help families impacted by Hurricane Katrina that launched in August 2005 on the Been There blog.
The Motherhood created and executed one of the first nationwide, brand-sponsored blogger activations in celebration of Huggies’ 30th anniversary. The Motherhood’s “Mom Sends the Msg” blogger campaign to reduce distracted driving was part of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
The Motherhood created a national “Do Good Day” for American Eagle Outfitters to launch a new brand and chain of stores. The Motherhood hosted the first virtual briefing, an innovation in how brands and influencers connect.
The Motherhood launched the first large-scale food blogger campaign with a live chat and video series called Cooking Connections, in partnership with ConAgra Foods. CEO Cooper Munroe hosted the first chat live on stage at a blogger conference with celebrity chef George Duran.
The Motherhood helped launch the first-ever Giving Tuesday (following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday) with a social media takeover alongside the United Nations Foundation, the 92nd Street Y and other partner organizations.
The Motherhood executed a nationwide hunger-fighting campaign resulting in more than 3 million meal donations and 100 million blog and social media impressions. Influencers from our team were the third-largest driver of site traffic.
Cooper Munroe presented a TEDx Talk, “The Motherhood Effect.” With the University of Pittsburgh, we researched and analyzed best tactics for brands to engage and activate moms online, and the findings were released at a top corporate social media summit.
The Motherhood was named the American Marketing Association’s Marketer of the Year. Our campaign on behalf of Fred Rogers Productions and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood was recognized with the first-ever PRSA People’s Choice Renaissance Award.
The Motherhood was named Pittsburgh Public Relations Society of America’s Renaissance Agency of the Year and received the Best in Show Award for a year-long campaign with The Stork OTC. The Motherhood’s team was named PR News’ Social Media Team of the Year.
Cooper Munroe was named by PR News as one of the nation’s top “Game Changers” in PR. The Motherhood officially launched our proprietary, custom-built project management and insights dashboard.
The Motherhood celebrated 10 years of client work. Cooper Munroe received the Women of Achievement Award, recognizing excellence in her field and community, as well as outstanding accomplishments for the advancement of women.
