Some curl up by the fireplace to watch old Christmas movies. Some stay around the table long after dinner is over to reminisce about family memories. Others may take a break in the middle of holiday shopping, wrapping and cooking in order to enjoy hot chocolate, coffee or pie with friends.
How Do YOU Savor the Holidays?
The Motherhood is excited to be working with Marie Callender’s on a program that asks just that question! We recently asked 15 awesome bloggers to join us in savoring the holiday season by reviewing the Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Here’s what they had to say:
Whitney of It’s Gravy Baby, who shared this picture on her blog, said, “One taste of Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie and I realized that my notion that I had to cook something homemade was wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I believe that I could walk in with Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie at any of our family events and everyone would not only love it, but request it for future gatherings. No one would mind that I didn’t pour hours into it, because it tastes like I did.”
Brett from Mama Loves Her Bargains made a change in the way she prepared for Thanksgiving this year. “I’ve decided that instead of spending hours on pie-making this Thanksgiving, I’m going to enjoy my afternoon the day before the holiday, playing games with my kids. Marie Callender’s is going to do my baking for me this year. I’m trying to take my OWN advice and slow down, live in the moment, and savor it.”
Steph from Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom admitted, “I don’t slow down. And I don’t savor. So when Marie Callender’s posed the question like this, it really made me want to. I started thinking, ‘How much do I miss in the months of November and December because I simply don’t stop and savor?’ .… So tonight, I slowed down. I hugged my girls tight and snuggled them before tucking them into bed for the evening. I came down and sidled up to my handsome husband who I’ve been fortunate to be married to for 6 years this December. And I popped Marie’s Apple Pie into the oven. No stress in the kitchen, no mess to clean up. Just the simple act of opening and closing the oven.”
