Get your phone out and get ready to take a few more cute photos of your kids, pets, laundry pile (well, maybe that’s not so cute). The point is, you can take a photo of ANYTHING and use the new Donate a Photo app from Johnson & Johnson to benefit one of three non-profit organizations.
Everyone at The Motherhood has been using the app daily since it became available on the App Store and Google Play on April 2, and we absolutely love it. It’s easy and fun to use, and it takes just seconds to do a good deed for the day.
This post on making a difference in the world through your own photography is brought to you by Johnson & Johnson, which has hired us to execute this campaign. Thoughts shared here are all our own.
Each time a photo is shared, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1* to one of their partner non-profit organizations – currently Save the Children, Safe Kids Worldwide and Keep America Beautiful – and you can choose which of the three benefits from your donated photo.
When a cause reaches its goal, anther will take its place. All causes will stay in the app, so you’ll always be able to explore the galleries.
Here’s how it works:
Step One: Go to your app store and download the free Donate a Photo app
Step Two: Open the app and sign up for your free profile
Step Three: Click the Donate button on the bottom of your screen
Step Four: Choose a cause
Step Five: Take a new photo or select one from your gallery
Step Six: Donate and share with your friends on Facebook and Twitter
Step Seven: Donate one photo a day, every day!!!
The Donate A Photo app is available on both iOS and Android platforms and can be accessed on any device (but donations can only be made through mobile).
*Johnson & Johnson has curated a list of trusted causes, and you can donate a photo to one cause, once a day. Each cause will appear in the app until it reaches its goal, or the donation period ends. If the goal isn’t reached, the cause will still get a minimum donation.
