Moms everywhere have one thing in common: They all want a better life for their children. But not all moms are in a position to keep their kids safe and healthy, and millions of children around the world die from preventable causes. The United Nations Foundation is empowering each of us to take just a few moments to help change that by following and promoting the 2014 Global Moms Relay.
The Global Moms Relay kicks off today – just in time to celebrate International Women’s Day tomorrow – and will highlight amazing moms through May 11, in recognition of Mother’s Day. Each day between now and Mother’s Day, community leaders, celebrities and moms will share their stories on the Global Moms Challenge website to answer the question, How has a mom changed your world?
Here’s where you come in: Every day, you can share these Global Moms Relay stories on your social media accounts – and each share will trigger $1 donation from Johnson & Johnson (up to $250,000). The money will support one of three global initiatives that are helping women and children lead healthy and happy lives: Girl Up, the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA), and the Shot@Life campaign.
So for every share each day – every comment to the day’s post, every Facebook share, Tweet or Pin, one dollar will go to help women and girls around the world. Fantastic, right?!?
With a few clicks of the mouse, we can help moms and kids worldwide survive and thrive, provide them with access to healthcare, and improve their chances for a better life. Please join us!
