Hi Audrey, I don't know you but I'm a good friend of Emily's as well as a colon cancer survivor (at age 48) with two boys. I know exactly what you mean about your life changing in an instant, and I know how incredibly scary this all is, but I just want to reassure you that you're going to get through this. It seems impossible at the time, but you seem like a strong, positive person with a great support system, and that is all you need. I went through similar surgery and am doing great, so I just want you to know there's going to be light at the end of the tunnel and just be really good to yourself and let everyone help out and take care of you.
