Disclosure: The Motherhood is working with Nutrish Natural Food for Cats to organize and manage a compensated blog campaign. The stories, photos and opinions shared in this post are my own.
I never had any intention of adopting a cat, but sometimes life takes us in unexpected directions. When Cooper walked into my office at The Motherhood two years ago to say she was helping someone find a home for an abandoned, four-week-old kitten, and did I know anyone who might be interested in adopting her, my first thought was, “My husband.”
The furry family member who entered our lives soon afterward as a result of that impulsive thought has been a source of both great joy and great frustration ever since (and I’m sure many pet owners can relate!).

Upon becoming a “cat mom,” I quickly learned that Scrabble is a study in contradictions. Beware when petting: She will purr contentedly right up until the second she takes a swipe at your hand to demonstrate her displeasure (“why are you still touching me?”). She will run to meet us at the door when we come home, or flop down on the floor in the middle of a group of people (“pay attention to me!”) – but as soon as anyone tries to interact with her, she runs for a hiding spot under the table. And although she’s a very curious cat, studiously testing the effects of gravity on various breakable objects (water glasses, flower pots, glass storage containers, candles), she’s terrified of our Roomba vacuum. Other cats get a kick out of riding around on Roombas – a search for “cat riding Roomba” on YouTube pulls up more than 40,000 results – but Scrabble watches it like a hawk from a great distance and sprints for the stairs whenever it moves in her direction.

Scrabble’s distinct “purrsonality” surprised me initially. I hadn’t interacted much with cats before owning one and figured they were all much the same. Rachael Ray Nutrish Natural Food for Cats knows better – they’re hosting a Purrsonality Sweepstakes for a chance to win great prizes for your kitty each week (think cat carriers, scratching posts, beds, toys and more – plus a grand prize of $1,000 and a supply of Nutrish! So great!).
Nutrish Natural Food for Cats sounds like a great option for Scrabble and your own feline friends: It’s made with simple, natural ingredients – with the #1 ingredient being real meat like salmon or chicken. What’s not to love?
Dry and wet recipes are available where you currently shop for your family’s groceries. Use the store locator to find a location near you. I’m switching Scrabble to Nutrish from her current cat food – if you’re interested in doing the same, check out these Switch To Nutrish coupons to select an offer.
